AMS Library Makerspace
Welcome to our Makerspace
The Maker movement is based on a hands-on approach to teaching and learning. Making encourages students to initiate their own learning by asking questions, exploring, creating, experimenting, experiencing the world and thus creating new knowledge. Students will learn from their mistakes, reflect, solve problems, and improve on their work.
Makerspaces promote a growth mindset in students by encouraging them to build on current knowledge, explore new ideas, and understand that failure is a stepping stone to success. Many of the activities students will engange in are STEAM related, building skills in science, technology, engineering, art and math. Providing our students access to a makerspace promotes 21st Century skills, by developing problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, communication, collaboration, and much more. |
